Master of Sociology

What is it About?

The Sociology Study Program is a study program at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences which aims to produce graduates who are able to respond to various social dynamics that occur in society and issues related to development and the environment within the local, national and international scopes.

What Will I Study?

1. Having knowledge and philosophical understanding of sociology research concepts,

   theories and methodologies

2. Having a sharp analysis and providing solutions to various social, development and environmental problems at the local, national and global levels

3. Developing, teaching, and disseminating Sociology.

4. Carrying out and developing community-based research to develop community social issues.

5. Conducting social mapping and its problems as an effort to resolve crises in the context of Sociology.

Career Paths

1. Social researcher:

   Mastering theory/concepts and research methods, as well as being able to write and apply research results from a Sociological perspective

2. Social analyst:

   Able to analyze development and environmental problems and interpret social problems from a sociological perspective

3. Social consultant:

   Able to formulate social plans for change, establish inter- and interpersonal relationships constructively, and manage human resources in an organization

4. Community empowerment:

   Have knowledge and skills in the field of community empowerment, able to empower community potential, conduct action studies and social audits related to development and environmental issues
