Master of Regional Innovation (AQAS Accreditation)

Unpad established the master program of Regional Innovation in response to current conditions and needs at the local and national levels regarding innovation and sustainable development.

Master program of regional innovation is a leading and competent master's degree in regional innovation based on the excellence of local wisdom in improving the quality of the environment.


The average study period is 2 years or 4 semesters. The Master’s Programme in Regional Innovation’s curriculum facilitates students' scientific backgrounds. In 4 semesters students are required to take a total of 43 credits. Then in accordance with the mastery/achievement of scientific competence and research plans, students are given the opportunity to take 3 elective courses (9 credits). The division of courses each semester is 12 credits for semesters 1-3 and semester 4, namely 8 credits consisting of a Research Proposal Seminar, 2 credits and a Thesis: 8 credits.


Furthermore, in the strategy of combining theory, practice, and skills, the Master’s Programme in Regional Innovation requires students to take the Characteristics Course (Regional Innovation Systems and Policy Innovations) and General Principles Course (Philosophy of Science, Research Methodology, Preparation of Paper - academic writing). We provide the ECTS of the Master’s Programme in Regional Innovation. The strategy above is carried out to standardise the competence of Master’s Programme in Regional Innovation graduates with quality, competitiveness and relevance to the needs of the work-life/users who can develop science and technology and solve problems in a multidisciplinary manner. Integrating theory and practice through lesson plans will clarify the weight of credits (tutorial/seminar/practicum) and teaching/reference materials that will be used. Integration is also done by strengthening and developing a blended learning system that combines online and face-to-face learning systems. The results of the evaluation of courses through the placement of graduates from the graduate users’ point of view is that the integrity of graduates is generally very good. User responses stated that the professionalism of graduates is by the expected competencies.


Therefore, the Master’s Programme of Regional Innovation will continue the efforts made to produce competent and professional graduates. The Master’s Programme in Regional Innovation regularly brings in lecturers/guest speakers both nationally/internationally who have backgrounds following Regional Innovation. Aspects of the development of graduates, in general, need to be improved; therefore, self-development efforts will be carried out by providing training in the form of hard skills and soft skills.
