Pharmacy

This program is a special track for Indonesian and international students to pursue undergraduate degrees in pharmacy with uniquely designed learning methods to conform to international standards.

What Is It About?

Our program has been accredited A (excellent) by the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (LAM-PTKes) and accredited by the international accreditation agency (ASIIN Germany).


The graduates' objective is to impart the essential competencies in pharmaceutical sciences, including pharmaceutical science such as chemical and pharmaceutical biology and pharmaceutical technology, as well as pharmacology and social behaviour.


In the first year the students mostly get the courses of basic joint matriculation program from university together with other faculty in Universitas Padjadjaran. Basic skills and knowledge of Pharmaceutical science is given only for 10 Credits. In the second semester, basic pharmaceutical competences are introduced as courses of lectures and work lab skills. Starting from the third semester the curriculum consists of mostly application of pharmacology and therapy which allow students to early exposure of pharmacotherapy, and pharmaceutical science which allow the student to design and evaluate pharmaceutical dosage forms in terms of laboratory scale. During semester 3 – 7 the curriculum is delivered either lectures, laboratory skill lab and tutorials. In addition, a research proposal seminar is conducted in the 7th semester. The final year starting at 8th semester consists of a seminar on thesis results and bachelor’s defense.


International undergraduate students of Pharmacy can apply for double degree program or spend one semester at the overseas partner university to study, experience the host country's culture, and undertake practical assignments to enhance their skills. The Bachelor of Pharmacy has international partnership with many overseas universities such as  the University of Groningen Netherland, University of Tsukuba Japan and Universiti Sains Malaysia.


Bachelor of Pharmacy students have also participated in IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards), the Government of the Republic of Indonesia scholarship scheme to fund Indonesian students for mobility programs at top universities overseas.


What Will I Study?

The Curriculum of bachelor's degree of Pharmacy follows the National Standard for Higher Education (SNPT) and the Association of Indonesian Pharmacy Colleges (APTFI), plus several local content courses.

  • Semester I-II: basic skills and knowledge of Pharmaceutical science.

  • Semester III-VI: Application of Pharmacology and therapy which allows students to have early exposure to pharmacotherapy and pharmaceutical science which enable students to design and evaluate pharmaceutical dosage forms in terms of laboratory scale.

  • Semester VII-VIII: Students could spend one semester at the overseas university partner by taking courses or undertaking research. Our partner Universities are Universiti Sains Malaysia and the University of Groningen Netherland.

Career Paths

Graduates of Bachelor Degree of Pharmacy should take the Pharmacist Profession Degree (Apoteker). A Pharmacist can have a career in the Pharma Industries, Hospitals, Pharmacy, civil servants, academician/researcher as well as a pharmaceuticals wholesaler.
