Study Program Overview

The educational programs offered by Unpad include Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. For international programs, Unpad also offers undergraduate and postgraduate international programs.

International students can enroll in undergraduate programs via the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) or the regular undergraduate program (RUP) schemes. The IUP program's lectures will be delivered in English in accordance with international standards. There are six academic programs offering international classes/ IUP. Both Indonesian and international students are eligible to apply to the IUP program.

Similarly, international students can select the RUP course at Unpad. There are 10 internationally accredited undergraduate study programs in Unpad.The RUP course will predominantly be taught in Indonesian, although English will also be used. To maintain international standards, only internationally accredited study programs can admit international students to this regular class.

Unpad also accepts international students for postgraduate degree programs. There are fifteen Master's and Doctoral Study Programs that accept international students and are accredited internationally.

Undergraduate Programs

The Bachelor program focuses on a specific field of study with some courses and a research project during 7 to 8 semesters, then completes the study with an undergraduate thesis, research publication, or Capstone project, based on the student's interest. Our bachelor program offers minor and major options through a nationally recognized scheme called the “Kampus Merdeka” scheme.

International Undergraduate Program

Universitas Padjadjaran offers an International Undergraduate Program (IUP) designed to provide Indonesian and international students with an opportunity to pursue undergraduate degrees in selected programs through uniquely designed learning methods that adhere to international standards.

Lectures are conducted in English, providing students with opportunities for international exposure, including student exchange at partner universities, international internships, and many more. Additionally, several programs offer double degree opportunities, enabling students to earn degrees from both Universitas Padjadjaran and a prestigious international partner university, enhancing global competitiveness and career prospects.

Regular Undergraduate Program

Universitas Padjadjaran offers Regular Undergraduate Programs that include both Bachelor’s and Vocational Programs, designed to provide students with strong academic foundations and practical competencies across a wide range of disciplines. These programs adhere to Indonesia’s national higher education standards while fostering innovation, research, and community engagement.

Lectures are primarily conducted in Indonesian, with selected courses offered in English. The Bachelor’s Programs emphasize theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, and research-based learning, while the Vocational Programs focus on applied skills and professional readiness through hands-on training and industry collaboration. Together, they prepare graduates to become capable, responsible, and globally minded professionals ready to contribute to national and international development.

Master's Programs

Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) offers a diverse range of Master’s programs designed to develop advanced knowledge, analytical skills, and professional expertise across various disciplines. These programs integrate academic rigor, research excellence, and practical relevance to prepare graduates for leadership roles in academia, industry, and public service—both in Indonesia and internationally.

1. Regular Master’s Program

Universitas Padjadjaran offers conventional Master’s Programs that provide in-depth academic education across a wide range of disciplines, preparing graduates for both academic and professional careers. These programs emphasize theoretical understanding, critical thinking, and research skills relevant to each field of study, enabling students to develop advanced competencies and contribute meaningfully to their professions and communities.

2. Master’s Project-Based Learning Program

Unpad’s Master’s Project-Based Learning (PBL) Program focuses on current scientific and professional topics, applying a hybrid learning model that combines face-to-face and online methods. This approach emphasizes solving real-world challenges through project-based and problem-based learning.

Program Advantages:

Taught by Unpad lecturers and prominent industry practitioners.
Uses project-based methods and real case studies in a flexible hybrid format.
Learning takes place not only at Unpad Bandung but also at the Unpad Jakarta campus, in collaboration with various government and private sector partners.
The final project may take the form of an applied capstone project or research-based study.
The program is designed for completion within three semesters.

3. Master’s Program through Recognition of Past Learning (RPL)

The Recognition of Past Learning (RPL) pathway acknowledges an individual’s prior learning outcomes—acquired through formal education, non-formal education, informal experiences, and professional practice. This recognition enables qualified individuals to continue formal education by aligning their prior learning with academic program requirements.

For bachelor’s degree holders with significant work experience, relevant professional achievements may be recognized as equivalent to formal coursework, allowing for academic credit transfers. Likewise, individuals who have completed part of a Master’s program at another university may transfer relevant credits to Unpad.

The RPL scheme demonstrates Unpad’s commitment to lifelong learning, educational accessibility, and alignment with national initiatives to expand pathways for professional and academic advancement.

4. Master’s Double Degree Program with Binus University

This double degree program is a collaboration between Universitas Padjadjaran and Binus University, offering a multidisciplinary graduate education in Digital Economy, Information Technology, Marine Science, and Fisheries.

Students will earn two master’s degrees—one from each institution—through a curriculum designed to combine academic excellence with industry relevance. The program is supported by experienced faculty members, industry experts, and research projects focused on digital transformation and innovation. Graduates gain a strong competitive edge and access to valuable professional networks.

5. Profession

These programs are designed for individuals seeking professional qualifications in regulated fields with combined academic coursework and hands-on training, and meet national standards for professional certification.

Doctoral Programs

Universitas Padjadjaran provides a Master's Degree through a research program that involves the submission of a completed thesis based on an independent research project. The students of the master program study independently with the support of 2 (two) supervisors reviewing the research topics and implementation with the thesis defense and international reputable journal publication as the study outputs. In addition, students are able to attend particular subjects to expand their skills in the area of research, including extensive job training before completing the Master's Program.
